Frank Bourke
Frank obtained his Ph.D. from London University's Institute of Psychiatry. There he worked in the research area of computerized psycho- physiology while pursuing his interest in psychotherapies and the measurement of their effectiveness.
On returning to the U.S. he developed a three year on-the-job training program in basic mental health skills for New York State mental health workers. Concurrently he began lecturing in psychology and community mental health at Cornell University. After four years, he left Cornell to found Flowers Management Corporation, which grew to a multimillion dollar corporation managing 12 psychiatric inpatient units. After Flowers he settled into a semi-retired clinical practice, learned NLP and raised a family.
In 2001 he came out of semiretirement where he was co-managing a 12 therapist private practice to help the AON Insurance Corporation, develop and run a rehabilitation plan for their 800 survivors of the World Trade Center. He has maintained part-time clinical practice for 26 of his 32 professional years using Gestalt, Rogerian, Behavior, and NLP therapies.
He was a self-acknowledged master therapist until some 15 years ago, when his two daughters Meghan and Catherine entered adolescence. He and his Australian wife of 35 years, Dr. Penny Wilson, garden and raise Arabian horses on a small farm in upstate New York.
